Happy Birthday Ember!

Not Much else to say.

Yo.

Hey, everybody. I'm back from extended hiatus, and I hope you had a great holiday!
(Booing)
Well, the Staff will be posting like mad starting today, in the hopes of getting our post count up to 100 before the new year!
Today is my birthday, so I will be spending a lot of time working on the site today, ect, ect.
Anyway, I kind of broke my promise about posting through the holidays, as my family didn't really let me do that, and as I didn't really want to do that.
But anyway, I'm thinking about bringing a small and very low-tech forum to the site, so that we can talk about various things in an area meant for just that. Basically, it's going to be a re-do of the Ss Forum thing, and it's going to be comment-based, so you can post replies just as easily. This isn't a very complex deal, it's just an easier way of interacting with everybody.
Enjoy!

Until next time,
Ember

I'm baaack!

Since my schedule has cleared up, and I don't have to do anything today, I have some time to work on the site.
Yiiiipeee!
I'm probably going to bring back the fanfiction section, but this time it won't be so disorganized. I'm also hoping to contact Storm or Dovey about the chat, which, thankfully, has changed names from joustTalk to... nothing specific, but it doesn't need a name.
You can join in the disscussion, and to do so email me at ekaj.texas@gmail.com, and we will join you in*!
The disscussion topics aren't decided on yet, as I kept all of this crud written down in my notebook, which I lost somehow, so I have to remember what I had written down. Darn.
The first disscussion should soon be held at about 9:00 PM Saturday(That's 3:00 central US time).
See you then!

Until next time,
Ember

*You need a Google Talk account to join in.

I'm Better!

Just a sort of random post to tell what my life as a strep throat victim was. So...Wake up:Take 3 three pills, eat a small piece of toast, surf channels. 12:30: eat lunch, surf channels more. 2:00: watch Tom and Jerry untill I get a bad coughing fit and a hurting throat. Whatever time dinner is: Eat chicken noodle soup. And to top it all off... having a hard time sleeping!

Anyways, I got bored to death and felt like a walking germ, but I'm almost better now, so I can start posting again.

-Storm

Alright, alright!

I'm on Christmas break man, give me a break! but I'll post some more if you both are not able. (sigh) Okay, I'm going to come out of dream world and announce that i do not live in paris.(weep, weep, weep) I live in boring old Marietta Georgia.(weep some more)

P.S. I never knew that one needed so much cloths on to go hunting!

Tuesday, 16 December 2008

Sorry.

Hey, everyone. I won't really be posting or updating today, as I've been out all day ferrying my grandmother to have a surgery, then shopping for christmas presents with my grandfather, and then falling asleep in the car, then picking up my grandmother, then going home and hanging out in the kitchen watching TV and being totally bored out of my mind.
Okay.
Well, I'd qualify this post as another random post that concerns my life/a little of the site.
Anyway, I have lame cartoons to watch, and so as you can see, I'm too busy doing nothing for the site today, sorry.
Storm has strep throat, and he can't get out of the bed and to the computer, so we can't do the joustTalk. In fact, Storm hasn't visited the site in a few days, explaining the absence of comments/posts from him.
Man, I feel sorry for him.
Instead, I will do a joustTalk with Dovey, so enjoy that when it is published!
Right now I am wearing my Guitar Hero T-shirt, my dark gray/black jeans, huge, heavily insulated snowboots, thick, long socks, giant blue gloves that make it hard to move my fingers, a huge camo double-layered coat, with the hood up, a brown gator wrapped around my ears, chin, neck and mouth, black baseball cap, and the hood closed over my mouth.
Yeah, that's me in the picture. My grandfather is getting my outfit ready for hunting tomorrow morning(We Brits love the hunt!), and I am wearing almost all of it.
Tomorrow morning, at about 3:15 AM, I'll be donning a sweater or two under the coat, and I'll also be wearing long underwear over my, um... unmentionables.
So, this funny, colorful discription of myself is all to say that you shouldn't be expecting any posts from me tomorrow, and then none Friday, as I am travelling for the holidays.
So, I guess that's a temporary hiatus for me, but Dovey and Storm will still be here, that is, if Storm recovers from strep, and if Dovey gets off her lazy butt and starts posting(Jk, jk).

Until next time,
Ember

New stuff(Just another 'Updates' post in disguise)

One major thing that we have now is the labels(I just added them today). These suckers took a long time to do, so I hope you like them!
Another thing is the 'Updates' section of the site. This will be on the homepage, and will show the most recent things done to the site so I don't have to keep putting out posts for this. Sound cool?
Anway, back to the labels.
Each post is now filed under a certain category. You can click on the label(It appears at the bottom of each post), and it'll take you to every post labeled under that category. This is helpful if you want to read the thoeries and don't want to skim through the other stuff.
I did this since the search bar on the site is pretty lame, so this should help you. Also, it helps me to get organized. Another newthing is the joustTalk, something Storm and I(Sometimes joined by Dovey) will do a google talk chat and record it, and then I'll post our conversation, as a prelude to the podcast. Every chat will be posted on the homepage and in the new section that'll be devoted to this. This will go live soon, so enjoy!

Oh, and one last thing is the poll that was on the top of the site, it has finished and 'Speechless' and 'It's great' tied(Not counting my vote in "Speechless', of course). What I don't get is why all the people who voted don't or didn't comment!

Until next time,

The Fourth Apprentice(Again)

I would like to inform you that the new series, previously thought to be called "The Fourth Apprentice", is now "Omen of The Stars". The has been confirmed by Vicky herself, as well as the two titles of the first two books, "Ambush", and "The Fourth Apprentice".
The order of these two has not been confirmed.
It has also been noted that Firestar, previously thought to have died permanently in the first book of this series, but Brambleclaw doesn't succeed him, it has been noted that this may mean that Firestar just loses a life.
This is just an update on the new series, the theories will come later.
Thanks for reading.

Until next time,
Ember

Book reviews!

I have been given a great idea by Earthfire, a commentor of our site.
Her idea was to do reviews of all of the special editions/manga of Warriors, and I loved it.
So I'm taking it to the next level. Instead of just doing the reviews, I'm going to set up a whole new section of the site to review all of the Warriors books, and I want more reviews than just ours. If you have a review, write it out and send it to me via email, and I will post it, once again, giving you full credit for it.
Sound cool?
The new section of the site will be up soon. Like, today.
Enjoy!

Until next time,
Ember

The Greatest Battle

Okay, I know that I said I'd write this article on the poll winner, but right now I'm on vacation and I don't have Eclipse with me. I will write it though. This post is really just some clarification on the subject.
Storm won't be writing it because he doesn't have Eclipse(I wasn't thinking about this when I said he would be doing it). He will be doing the other three for the Tactics section, though.
That's really all for now.

Until next time,
Ember

Tigerstar & Sasha

This is the new cover for the second Tigerstar & Sasha manga, which is due for release 12/23.
Please note that this review isn't a good one. If you have read and enjoyed the first T&S book, then prepare yourself, because I am about to totally crush it. If you liked it, fine by all means. I don't want to offend anybody.
Okay, let's begin.

I'm going to go ahead and say that this book deserves a 3/10, and, like the Seekers review, that's only because it's coming from the Erins. If it weren't it would be a -1/10.
The reason I'm able to say this befiore the book actually comes out is the fact that I've seen the artwork for the book already.
And in a manga(Or anything else in a comic format), the art is more than half of the book. You want it to look good, right?
Well, I'm going to be blunt about it.
The artwork in the last one made me sick.
And the artwork in this one made me sick as well.
There you go. Blunt as could be. Now, moving on.
The story is okay, but the artist doesn't even draw in the manga style. And, yet again, this series isn't real manga(Which reads right to left).
I was going to include a sample page here, but, due to some errors, you'll have to look for yourself, here.
As you can see, the artist, Don Hudson, draws people better than cats. In my opinon, this was dumb choice to make for an artist. I mean, this is about cats. 'Nuff said.

From what I can see, Sasha spends the first part of the book arguing with Tigerstar(Who, by the way, looks like a 7-year-old drew him. In fact, all of the cats look like 7-year-olds drew them), then leaves him to fins Ken, her owner who abandoned her for unexplained reasons.
Long story short, she doesn't fins him and sets into Twolegplace, where alley cats attack her, ect., ect.

Now, if you like T&S, as said above, you can buy it and love it to death, as you would any other warriors book. That's fine with me.
But I won't be doing that. I would never spend my own money on it, and I really do hope I don't get given it as a present for christmas. *Shiver*.
I think they should hire Bettina Kurkoski(The one who did The Rise of Scourge)
But that's just my opinon.

Until next time,
Ember

Please note that this is the first of all of the manga/special edition reviews for the site, the rest of which will be put into a new section just for book reviews. The idea to do this was given to us by Earthfire, a frequent visitor of the site.

Improvements?

I'm really at a loss of what to do on the site right now. I'm just kind of waiting for Storm to get Skype, and then I can start on the podcast, but other than what we have already, I can't think of anything to do!

So, here's what I want from you(The fan/reader/site visitor). I need some new ideas, concerning site content, polls, projects, whatever. I will accept pretty much any good idea, and I WILL GIVE YOU CREDIT FOR IT.
If you want to help out and provide some muse for us, please do!
And, I'm going to say this one more time. If you visit the site, please leave a comment. We only have about one person who frequently comments, and she said she was getting lonely being the only one. I know you're out there! I KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!!!! (Jk)

Until next time,

Jay(paw)

Yes, yes, I know what his name is, I'm just not going to say it for fear of spoiling it for some people who don't know.
A while back, I covered this theory in the post "News and sneaky sneak peeks!". I stated,

"Will Jaypaw be reincarnated?
We know that Cinderpaw was the reincarnation of Cinderpelt, simply because she had a destiny, then another one was forced upon her. Then she went and broke her back leg and all that goodness. I don't know about you, but I was expecting a bit more of a reason to reincarnate her, but whatever. Now, we all know Jaypaw hates being a medicine cat, right? He wants to be a Warrior, but can't because he's blind. Does this give him a reason to be reincarnated?"

And guess what? Before I continue, it's time for another...
SPOILER ALERT!
Do not keep reading if you haven't finished Long Shadows(Or don't care about being spoiled whatsoever)!
Anyway, it turns out that Jayflight(Yeah, I said it), is reincarnated already!
Jay's Wing, his ancient double is, well, his ancient double.
But, that doesn't answer the question of will he be reincarnated later, unfortunately.

Until next time,
Ember

The new year for Shadows in The Light

Hey, everybody. As we all know, this month is the holiday season, whether you are celebrating Christmas, Hannukah(Probably spelled it wrong), Kwanza, or many others, we at Shadows in The Light would like to wish you happy holidays.
And, of course, after the holidays comes New Year's, and that will mean some changes for SiTL.
Right now I'm looking back to when we started, with the very first post, "I love Warriors"(That is thanfully now deleted). And even though we have only ben around about four or five months, we've come an long way from "I love Warriors".
Coming 2009, we'll have(probably) a new staffer, who's identity I'm not going to reveal just yet, and StarClan Speaks, our podcast, is still in the preparation stage, but it's almost ready.
This layout is going to stick for a while, and then I'm going to estabilsh a renovation schedule for us.
This will be every four months or so, and then a new layout for you(Unless I like one too much and I marry it and never change it). I am on christmas vacation right now, so I will have more time to work on the site(Yay).
And the gallery needs you! Email me your pictures and graphics, and we will post them there(Giving you full credit, of course). I would let you just log into the site to post them yourself, but that would be way too much of a hassle, believe me.
And we're always looking for Warriors news, so email us that as well, mmm K?
Now, onto some news concerning the site.

All of the subsites and sections of the site(Exlcuding the home page) have been changed, so if you visited just one section of the site, the URL is different. The new URLs are as listed:

Gallery: Used to be sitlgallery.blogspot.com, now is sitlgallerysection.blogspot.com.
About: Used to be aboutsitl.blogspot.com, now is sitlaboutsection.blogspot.com.
Tactics: sitltacticssection.blogspot.com.
Theories: used to be theories.blogspot.com, now is sitltheorysection.blogspot.com.
(Also, you can just use the site links)

The reason I did this was because all of the URLs were jumbled up and different, now they're uniform and easier to use and remember. Something else concerning this is that I updated the site links and got them into order, so now you can actually navigate the site!

We also put up two polls recently. I'm trying to find out what you think of the site and how you found out about it.
If you participate in the one on the top of the home page, then please tell me what you voted and why. You can comment in any post to do this, or email me.

Until next time,

SGDVIUSGBFGGHIRGDYG****_+U()H
JDMMASKNDO>SDS>SS"SS}SSEDFWS^EgggfvUTFdyP:":?>
Okay. That's out of my system. Ugh.
Anyway, this post DOES NOT concern the site or Warriors at all. Read this only if you care about some weirdo who is broadcasting his personal life(And the squirrel he ran over while going to the bookstore) over the internet, and through a medium that has nothing to do with it.
Today I went to the bookstore before school, and bought a few things(Not Warriors... boo hoo...). Then I went to school and somehow arrived on time, then got out of school and had to go to the grocery store, where I sat in the car instead of going in. Then I got home and crashed on the couch, picked up one of my new books, and watched television while I read.
Then I discovered that my grandfather was going to lose his job, and then I ate some spaghetti and meatballs, and now I'm writing this post.
And now I'm listening to frogs croaking 'we wish you a merry christmas'.
What a day.

Until next time,
Ember

Kate Cary!!!

Okay, as you might have seen in the previous post's comments, Kate Cary declined my interview. She got my name wrong! It was so cool to see her comment on my blog! Wow!
Anyway, I suppose there won't be a Kate Cary interview or anything here, but I can't belive she replied like that!

Wow.

Hello again!

I'm back after a brief day's respite. Hope you all are having a good weekend.
Anyway, this post won't be long, because I satyed up all night finishing the next book in the Inheritance cycle, Brisingr. I cried at the ending. Man, was it good.
Anyway, after waking up at 11:30 this morning, I am now ready to get back to the site!

Well, the Tactics section is completely finished, and it was only me being lazy yesterday that I didn't complete it then. Witht his new layout it makes it easier to work with, meaning that it only takes 10 minutes tops to make a new section or whatever.
Concerning this is the poll we just finished a day or so ago. The winner was the Great Battle in Eclipse, as I've said before. There's been a mix-up concerning who's going to wirte this, and I will hand the task over to Storm, so look for the article in the Tactics thing.
If he wants to, he might write an article about all of the other battles featured in the poll, but that's intirely up to him.

Second order of buisness: Lurkers!
All right, we have recieved several visits, and when we have them, poll votes.
But, no one is commenting, so I have no idea who these people are! This is called lurking. I plan to de-lurk the site, and that starts here.
Who the heck are you? Yes, I'm talking to you.
If you visit the site, please please please please comment or email us! True the commenting is moderated(Parents), but I still want to read them, and have others read them.
It's extremely annoying when people lurk but don't comment. We're going to have a survey/poll to find out that you think of the site. Participate in that, okay?

Until next time,
Ember

Poll: The best battle sequence

Well, you've voted, and the results are in!
Of the four battle sequences given, The Great Battle(From Eclipse) has won! Either I or Storm will write about this one, and that gives me the chance to unveil a new project: Tactics Review.
Storm will have his own section of the site up, and he'll write about and review battles and fights in the Warriors series. This is now live, so enjoy!

Update confirmation

Ah, we have the new layout up, as well as the Theories Section, which is, like the gallery, is run by Dovey. I'd like you to check this out, as Dovey is the place I get most of my theories from.
Next is the new layout! Although I've mentioned it before, I haven't gone into detail on it.
First of all, its coding is much easier to handle, so it will be easier to set up more of the site, which means... more stuff!
YAAAAY! *Hugs easy HTML codes*
Anyway, the header, as usual, isn't done yet. I just wanted to put something up there that wasn't junk, so this looks good for the time being.
Enjoy the site, and remember to tip your waitresses!

Until next time,
Ember

The Fourth Apprentice

Many of you have heard of the next Warriors series, titled The Fourth Apprentice.
Little is known about this series, as we are just into the fifth book in Po3, but I'm here to shed some light on it, mainly dealing with Firestar.
According to Wikipedia and other sources,

"It has been confirmed that there will be a fourth series of the main 'Warriors' novels. It will follow most of the same characters from 'Power of Three', and will carry on from where Power of Three book six leaves off. Also confirmed is that the series will follow Firestar's kin. The first book in the series has a release date of Autumn, 09. It has been said that the first book will be titled Ambush and Firestar will die in that book, but Brambleclaw will not suceed him."

Read that last part: ..."Firestar will die in that book, but Brambleclaw will not suceed him."
Woah. Then who will?
My guess is as good as yours, my friend. But, now we know the release date(August 09), and several things about this new series.

Until next time,
Ember

Theories you need to read(But not if you haven't read Long Shadows

Okay, two things.
Number one, we have a new layout. I should think that a bit obvious. It's not fully completed yet, so be expecting more coming soon.
Number two, I have been thinking, and I have realized a few things that will make you scream(Not really).
Proof that Leafpool is the mother and Crowfeather is the father of the three kits, then contradiction that will lead into the second theory.
Well, here we go.

I've got to let you know that with a blog, it's hard to prevent people from being spoiled, but I am going to put another SPOILER ALERT in here. If you haven't finished Long Shadows, DO NOT CONTINUE READING THIS POST.
But, if you have finished it, or you don't care, keep reading!
Now, when Squirrelflight told J, H, and L that she wasn't their mother(as discussed in an earlier post), the three were not told who their real mother was.
Then they realized that if Squirrelflight wasn't their mother, then they weren't related to Firestar, and that would make them not the three.
Only problem with this is that they all have powers, right?
This is where Leafpool comes in. She's Firestar's other daughter, and then that makes them kin all over again.
BUT: Here's where I contradict myself.
Earlier in the book, Sol asks Hollyleaf if they have 'found the three', thus hinting at the fact that Holly, Jay, and Lion aren't the three.
Now, you'll probably be saying to yourself, "That's ridiculous. Who else is Firestar's kin?"
And here's my answer.
Dawnpaw, Flamepaw, and Tigerpaw.
You see, Tawnypelt is Brambleclaw's sister, and then Brambleclaw is Squirrelflight's mate, and Squirrelflight is Firestar's daughter.
You should be shocked right about now.
But, if the three are Leafpool's kits, you can forget that theory.
But what about "have you found the three yet?"
Well, in that same book-
Okay, if you still haven't read Long Shadows and you were just ignoring my warning, YOU HAVE TO STOP READING!!! This will totally ruin the book for you, not to mention the series!
Anyway, there is a few chapters where Jaypaw goes back in time to meet the Ancients, the cats who lived by the lake before, and he is his counterpart, Jay's Wing.
He comes to the revalation that he, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf, all have counterparts in the ancient Clan, and that's what gives them their power.
Those three cats, the Ancient Holly, Jay, and Lion, might be the three cats that they have to find, as Sol mentions.

Th-th-th-that's all for now, folks!

Until next time,
Ember

Updates

Hey, everyone.
I'd like to wish you all a belated happy thanksgiving, and I'd also like to let you know that we're officially back from hiatus.

And, as usual, we have updates planned for the site as well. First off is a new layout. That's underway, and may take a few days to get set up, but be expecting it!
The theories section, which has been long procrastinated over, will go up soon as well.
Also, just as something I'd like you to notice, I've set up a poll on what the best battle scene was.
You can choose as many as you'd like, and by battle scene we mean tactics and war, not one on one, or two on one fights.
Choose wisely, because whichever wins will get an article written on it, and that article will include tactics review, and many other things.

Until next time,
Ember

Happy thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!

I hope that you had a wonderful thanksgiving!!

Long Shadows(yet again)

As we all know, the highly anticipated fifth book in the Po3 series made its debut to store shelves today.
I had the pleasure of walking into a Barnes & Noble and going to to the very back(Where all the kiddie books happen to be), feeling a bit self-conscious walking through the children's section, and then there it was.
Layed out in stacks of green was my one true desire.
Power of Three book No. 5, LONG SHADOWS, withy all its Sol-ey cover greatness.
Man, was that cool.
Anyway, I was engrossed in the book from the time I left the store, and I finished it in about 2 and a half hours.
And I was jumping up and down and practically screaming like a japanese schoolgirl(Embarrasing, I know).

I've decided to come out of hiatus for a day or two and write about my new book. I just couldn't stay away.
Since this is a new book, I'm going to let everyone that hasn't read it and doesn't want to be spoiled know that this will spoil it to the very core for you. STOP READING NOW.
If you aren't one of those respectable people, please keep reading.

Now, Long Shadows was gripping from the very begging.
Do you ever experience a book or a movie(Or videogame, for that matter) that had you holding your breath, and it was hard to make out the words on the page?
Long Shadows did that to me. I was glued to the page as I read about Ashfur trying to kill Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, and Lionblaze in the fire, and it was like I was there, everything drowned out but Ashfur and Squirrelflights words.
When Jayfeather, at this point Jaypaw, went back in time to the Ancients and discovered his counterpart Jay's Wing, and his love Half Moon, and Stone Song, and Furled Bracken, and everybody else, I was riveted to the ink and paper of that lovely green book.
Now that I've gushed some, I can get down to business.
When Jaypaw was given his warrior name, it was, as widely expected, Jayfeather.
Now, why The Three don't know who their real mother is, I think Vicky dropped us a hint, as does Dovey(Please don't kill me for using your theory, D).
Look at their names.
Hollyleaf. Leafpool.
Jayfeather. Crowfeather.
If that isn't a clue, then I'm a mouse, in the words of Jayfeather.
And, sticking to the theorizing of many Warriors fans, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf aren't Squirrelflight's kits.
I found this surprising. I had previously thought that only Holly and Jay were not her kits, and Lion was hers and Brambleclaw's.
BUT: She did say: "They aren't my kits.", but all three were on the stick, about to die.
I think she said this because they were going to die, and she didn't want them to. Don't get me wrong, I still think that H & J aren't her kits, but what about Lionblaze?
If she hadn't have said that, they would have all died, right?
But what if Lionblaze was her kit, hmmm?
I know what you're thinking: Well, she said that, and she wouldn't lie to them, and she also had chance to tell him after the incident, ect, ect.
Well listen to this.
Vicky doesn't always make everything make sense. She drops hints, like with the names of H & J.
Any smart cat who knew Leafpool, like Firestar, would have seen that, right?
No, because she(Vicky) was dropping hints.
I think, and I may be wrong, but I think that she does this now. Let us read the part again.

"Squirrelflight raised her head, her gaze locked on Ashfur's crazed
eyes. 'Kill them then,' she meowed. 'You won't hurt me that way.'
Ashfur opened his jaws to reply, but said nothing. Hollyleaf and
her brothers stared at their mother. What was Squirrelflight say-
ing? Squirrelflight took a step away from them, and glanced
carelessly over her shoulder. Her green eyes were fiercer than
Hollyleaf had ever seen them, with and expression she couldn't
read. "If you really want to hurt me, you'll have to find a better way
than that," Squirrelflight snarled. "They are not my kits."

Well, there it is. Ashfur was about to kill them then and there, and she said that, and it totally disconcerted Ashfur, as we see in the next chapter.

"'You're lying.' Ashfur's voice was choked with disbelief. 'No, I'm not.'
Squirrelflight spoke softly, but her intensity pierced through the
crackle of the flames. 'Did you see me give birth? Did I nurse them?
Stay in the nursery until they were apprenticed? No.' 'But I-' Ashfur
        began, then fell silent..."

"...'I fooled all of you, even Brambleclaw,' Squirrelflight went on
Scornfully. 'They are not mine.' 'And no cat in the Clan knows?'
Ashfur's disbelief was changing into uncertainty. 'No. They're all
as blind as you are to the truth.'..."

See? Ashfur is bewildered by this, and he doesn't kill them, instead plotting to give her away at a gathering.
I think vicky drops us the hint right here.

"...'Squirrelflight?' Hollyleaf's voice quivered; Jayfeather could sense her                      disbelief  warring with fear. 'That's not true, is it? We are your kits,
aren't we?'... 'I'm so sorry,' Squirrelflight whispered. 'I should have told
you the truth a long time ago.' 'What do you mean?' Lionblaze demanded..."

And it goes on with even more misery and sadness on Hollyleaf's and Squirrelflight's parts.
I think that Squirrelflight was only saying this to protect Lionblaze, as stated before.
Later on, he(Lionblaze) wonders what Tigerstar will think of him not being his grandson, but Tigerstar only says that he doesn't have to worry about the prophecy anymore. Why would TS go on training him when he's not even related to him, hmm?
I think this was put in place just to catch fans off guard. I mean, the whole thing was pretty much already figured out, and I'm guessing Vicky will want something else to surprise her fans with, right?

Well, we'll see.

Until next time,
Ember

Seekers

So, by the means of my cousin(I would never waste money on it), I have obtained the first Seekers book, called The Quest Begins. An appropriate title, I suppose.
Well, let me tell you, I expected this book to be lame, and it didn't rise past my expectations. It was lame.
The whole thing is set up almost exactly like Warriors. In fact, I would call it a Warriors knock-off, if it weren't by the same authors. I just cannot believe that Vicky created this. Blah.
First of all, the book started out with Kallik, the polar bear, A.K.A the main character. She was with her family, which, not far into the book, get demolished, Taqqiq, her brother, and Nisa, her mother.
Then it went to Lusa, the black bear, who, I was surprised to find, lived in the zoo with her mother, Ashia, her father, King, and a random cub named Yogi(Ha ha), and another random bear named Stella. I started to think that it might be better than I expected.
Then Toklo happened.
Toklo is the brown bear, or the grizzly bear. He and his mother Oka, and his little brother Tobi, are traveling through the valley that they live in.
Tobi is a sickly little bear, and Toklo hates it that his mother is always making a huge fuss over him.
The mother abruptly decides that they need to go to the river to get salmon, so that the cubs don't die.
Long story short, Tobi dies on the way, and then Oka goes insane. At the river there aren't any salmon, because the bear spirits have been angry, or at least that's what everyone thinks.
Toklo is almost killed by a large male bear who wants to eat him, and Oka just leaves him, saying, "I can't do this. I can't watch my cubs die. I won't let it happen again." Then, to Toklo, "Leave me. Leave this territory. We're all going to starve here. If you're going to die, do it somewhere else, somewhere far away from me. Leave, and don't come back."
Yick.
Then, in Lusa's neck of the story, her mother gets sick very abruptly, then comes back very abruptly. Her father, King, who used to be in the wild, hates it to be mentioned, and gets all mean. Lusa runs away in search of the forest.
Kallik's mother is killed by Orcas, and Taqqiq is separated from her.

Thus begins our story.

The religion of the three bears varies slightly, but they all believe in 'bear spirits' that get trapped in various objects, stars, trees, rivers, ect.
This reminded me a lot of the disney movie Brother Bear, which was really dumb. If you don't believe me, go rent it and see.
Overall, I'd give Seekers about a 5 out of 10, and that's just because Vicky created it.

Until next time,
Ember

Long Shadows(Again)

Well, I've somehow figured out the release date for Long Shadows. Don't ask me how, I can't remember for the life of me.
Anyway, the release date is going to be November 25. *Does irish jig at desk and bangs knee* Yipppeeeeeeee! Exciting!

As for some speculation on LS(I'm tired of writing Long Shadows), I want your feedback(as always)!
Email me at ekaj.texas@gmail.com, and I'll post your thoughts here!
Who will be the traitor? Will Jaypaw get his Med. Cat name? What will Hollyleaf's power be???
Who knows?

ULE over!

Yesterday many awoke to a new president in the US. Sen. Barack Obama is their new president.
Along with that, many(including me) awoke to an Ultimate Leader.
And guess who it was?
Firestar.
Firestar, the cat who started it all. Firestar, the cat who we grew so tired of. Firestar, the cat who made people jump up and down when he didn't help RiverClan. Firestar, the cat many hate, has won the election. Why?
It was rigged.
The polls showed Crookedstar leading in the second round of the election. Guess where Fire was?
Dead last.
When the polls re-opened most recently, they showed him with a huge lead over Crooked. How?
Most of the fans are gunning for CS, and they got FS instead. The Erins just couldn't let go.
Of course, there is a large percentage of people who aren't as into it as we are. They could just be browsing through, and they see Firestar and think, "Oh, it's him! I know him! click." Most of them wouldn't even know who the other leaders are. In theory.
This may be real or not, but at any rate, Shadows in The Light would like to congratulate Firestar for his win-rigged, or not.

Until next time,
Ember

Secret project...

here's the news.

I am working on a secret project with Blizz from Ww. I can't tell you much about it except that I am designing it right now.
The project's site will be a subsite of Ww, so that will make me(Ember) a proud contributer of Ww.

Check back soon to see what it is!

Podcast

So, the podcast(StarClan Speaks), is going live soon. I promise!!!!
Storm and I are recording it tonight, and then I will put it up soon.

Please hang in there!

When Crookedstar meets the Atlanta Thrashers

Let's Go Crookedstar Let's Go!(Bang,Bang,Bang) Let's go Crookedstar Let's Go!(Bang,Bang,Bang)

Just a random post showing my undivided loyalty to RiverClan's(second)best leader ever!!!

I know that Dovey and Ember are not familliar with the Thrasher's chant so mabye Georgians like me will accept my Southern hospitality to our favorite ULE candidite.

Updates!

So, some more updates concerning the site for today are two major things that are coming soon to SiTL.
Number one, we're going to have an articles section, where we will write articles for Warriors, covering different things.
Number two is the theories section, which is going to be run by Dovey. She's going to write intensively studied theories and post them there. If have an article you'd like to have posted, email me the article at ekaj.texas@gmail.com. All articles MUST be at least semi-literate.
Anyway, another thing I'm working 0n is the SiTL joustTalk. The joustTalk will be a chat-based system to debate any topic, with users signing on for one side or the other. This is very early in the conception, so don't put any faith in it quite yet. It's probably going to be over Google Talk, Google's chat system. So, if you have a Google Talk account, look out for that.
Root beer, pizza, and TV aren't enough to keep me awake for long, so I might sign off soon.

Please, do email us at our email address, already mentioned before, ekaj.texas@gmail.com.

Until next time,
Ember

This is a wonderful piece of fanfiction, based on the Jay x Poppy, Cinder x Jay romances. I found this on the Ww Fanfiction Archives, and darn it is good.
Sorreltail, I hope you don't mind me using this. If you do, please let me know and I'll take it down. Here's the link.

Anticipation

The WULE polls have closed again, and they will open in two days, with the two leading cats, both of which will go head to head in the final election. I don't know for sure which ones are going to make it, but I will guess that it'll be Tallstar and Crookedstar who will be competeing for our vote. A hard choice.
I'm not saying who I am voting for, as we want to stay unbiased. But, I will say that Storm and Dovey are adamantly for Crookedstar, and I was voting for Leopardstar, but she got knocked waaay behind the others, so my hopes for her are pretty much smashed.
Please keep in mind that whoever wins will get a story written about them, and we want someone who isn't as covered in the books, as, say, FIRESTAR. Anyway, happy voting, and check back on warriorcats.com and vote every day for the candidate of your choice!
As soon as the polls re-open, we will have our election tracker back up and running, and ourpoll will stay open.

WHO WILL BE THE ULTIMATE LEADER? THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

Monday, 13 October 2008

Ultimate Leader Election

It's baack! The WULE is back, and the four candidates are Tallstar, Crookedstar, and Blackstar.
Get out there and vote, man(Or woman)!

Anyway, since it's back, so is our tracker, as well as some other stuff like some theory on who's going to win by Dovey, so be sure to check that out.

                "Four warrior cats.
                 One ultimate leader.
                  The battle is on.
                  The choice is yours."

Updates

Hey, everyone. Sorry for not posting in awhile, but I've been busy with the new RP, which is almost done. We need 60 more spots, so if you want to get in, now is the time!

Anyway, the Ultimate Leader Election is back, so be sure to vote for that. Also, I am a proud member of Forbidden, a LeafxCrow shrine, run by Emberstone. If you have any crowleaf graphics, send them to her. Also, the fanfiction has started, so get there and read it.
That's about all for now, just a quick update.

Oh, and we changed the header to a more designed look, I hope you like it!

Until next time,

Roleplay

Just to let you know, I've been working on a top-secret project lately.
That's right, you guessed it, I've been setting up a role-play site! It's called Clans of Light and Shadow, and it's not affiliated with SiTL, I just created it for fun. You can check it out here.

Please tell your friends about it! It just started, so most of the positions are open. If you don't want to be a Clan cat, you can become a rouge or a loner.

Gallery

The gallery is finally live, and it is being run by our newest staffer, Dovey. Currently the gallery is not user-interactive, but I'm working on that as I write. Ideally, you'll be able to sign up and then post your own pictures and drawings, a bit like an oekaki. But for now, it's just us, and that will hopefully change soon.

Until next time,
Ember

Long Shadows

The fifth book in the Power of Three series has been found on the Internet. It hasn't come out yet, but we know the description and the cover. Here are both.

"The Clans are in turmoil. ShadowClan has turned it's back on StarClan and pledged to follow the dark predictions of Sol, the strange cat who foretold the solar eclipse. But not all the cats have lost faith in their warrior ancestors....

Jaypaw is convinced that StarClan still holds an important place in the warrior code, and his search for answers leads him far back into the past, farther back than even StarClan can remember. Lionblaze, tortured by violent dreams and bloody visions, wishes he had never been prophesied to be one of the three but to turn his back on his littermates would be the ultimate betrayal. And Hollyleaf is terrified that once the Clans lose their faith, the warrior code will fall apart. She's willing to fight tooth and nail to preserve it-whatever the cost.

And when murder stalks into the heart of ThunderClan, the cats realize that the darkest shadows don't always lie outside the territory."

Coolness. Anyway, in other news, the first version of the podcast was recorded last night, but that was a test version and probably won't make it to the web. I just wanted to say that it's still being worked on.
And come friday, I'll have Eclipse, and that will be good for everyone reading.

Until next time,
Ember

Breaking news!!!

I just discovered this, elections are going on at Warriorcats!! Eight leaders have been selected, and you can vote from one from each Clan(This means you get four votes). Come October 6th, the candidates will be lowered to four of them. Currently, Blackstar is leading.
So what are you waiting for? Get there and vote!

You can vote once per day, and you can also download bumper stickers and a bracket to keep track of the election. The link to the site is here, and you can also find it in the site links on the sidebar below.

Vicky on the subject of everyone's favorite medicine cat apprentice, Jaypaw!(Pt. 1)

(Copyright © 2008 Working Partners)

Why is Jaypaw blind?
This is a question I get asked a lot and sometimes I'm tempted to reply, Because he was born that way! But I know what people really mean is, why did I choose to take away the sight of one of my central characters, when it might seem easier to keep all five senses intact for each hero?
Well, why not? :) Being a hero doesn't depend on being able to see, or hear, or run extra fast; heroism comes from inside, from what sort of person (or cat) you are. I always knew Jaypaw would be one of the most important cats from Power of Three, so he needed to have the right sort of character even if he didn't have functioning eyes! He didn't need to be able to see in order to be bold, curious, and willing to fight for what he believes in, which are all vital qualities for a hero.
I also liked the challenge of writing from a blind cat's viewpoint. Jaypaw can't describe how a scene looks, but he four other senses-scent, touch, taste, and hearing-to fill in the gaps. I deliberately started Power of Three Book One: The Sight from his perspective because I wanted to fill the opening chapters with details that would trick the reader into not realizing the narrator was blind. We see busy scenes of Clan life and share the thrilling and perilous fox hunt with the three kits, and only learn that Jaypaw can't see when he complains to Leafpool because she's fussing over him too much. I wanted the readers to get to know Jaypaw, to share his sense of adventure and loyalty to his Clanmates, before they knew he was blind, because that might have made him an object of pity. Jaypaw wants to be treated the same as all apprentices-and that means not being judged by readers, too!

Thanks for reading this special production of Why is Jaypaw blind?, brought to you by Erin Hunter and Shadows in The Light. Part two will continue tomorrow, right here.

Until next time,
Ember

New staffer, and other updates and news.

Even though I said I won't be accepting any staff requests, we have a new and very much needed staff member. I'd like you all to welcome... Dovey! Dovefoot(Or Dovey), has agreed to join her blog, Power of One, with Shadows.
She is now going to be writing for us, and doing some extra-secret stuff that I can't even tell you about yet. Awesome! Anyway, she will be the Official                Specialist for the blog and soon for the podcast, and she will also be the manager of the                  . As a special little teaser for you guys, I'm going to write down a list of things planned for SiTL, so that you can know what to expect from us.
Also, just so you know, the main reason the podcast is not out yet is that Storm doesn't have a mic yet! Arrgh! Other reasons are that I'm still looking for a hosting service for it, and other things.
So, without further ado, here is the list of things planned for SiTL!!

September list of goodness-
September 27(Today): Special sneeky stuff!
September 28: Gallery section of SiTL goes live.
September 29: Theories section goes up.

Th-th-th-that's all for now, folks!

Firestar!

Its Firestar! Just a random post, I was searching for a new picture for my profile, and I came across firestar!

WHO IS THE TRAITOR???

Okay, here are the most likely possibilties, THAT I HAVE SPOTTED. If there are more, or if we already know who the traitor is, let me know please(I haven't read Eclipse yet). Okay, here we go!

1. Ashfur: He hates Brambleclaw for winning Squirrelflight's affection back from him, so that puts him immediately under suspicion. Then, he was the one who charged into the ThunderClan camp and told Squirrelflight and Leafpool about Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost. And the fact that his apprentice is next in line...

2. Birchfall: Birchfall was Ashfur's apprentice and he was the one who told Firestar about Blackstar being on the territory. When Firestar tells Brambleclaw this, Hawkfrost leans over and sneers "But Blackstar isn't here, is he?", indicating that Birchfall might have been lying.

3: I don't know who else it could be. There are a lot of pieces missing from the puzzle, and if you know any, tell me!

Until next time,
Ember

Hollypaw: Where does she stand?

I think we can all agree on this. Outcast had a great ending. Jaypaw starting to reveal his secret of the prophecy, and just as it gets exciting, and you start to hold your breath, it trails off into an ellipse. But this left me wondering quite a few things. Like now we know that Hollypaw is not the fighter. It's Lionpaw. That's easy to tell from the way he kicked tresspasser tail in the battle, and won the battle for the Tribe.
So that leaves us with Hollypaw. What's her secret power? Hmm? For one thing, we know she is a thinker, a plotter, a planner. She easily sees the politics of any situation, like, for example, when ThunderClan was worried about the supposed battle with WindClan. She knew that there didn't have to be a battle, and eventually, she was proved right. Is that her special power, is it something else? I want to know what you think!

Until next time,
Ember

Ah, Outcast, how I love thee, and other news

News: I finally got freaking Outcast! Great book. Haven't finished it, because it's my sister's and she's been hogging it... anyway, it's a good read, as always. News for the blog now. Okay. Switchin' gears now. So-aaack!
Sorry, my mum/mom just poured boiling water on herself... ouch. Well, the news concerning the site isn't much. I went through and updated everything, including the other pages. I didn't add the header picture on the fanfiction section, because it looks bad. Soon a list of the all the Warriors books will go up, so be sure to check that out

Until next time,
Ember

News and sneaky sneak peeks!

Over the summer a new(and sort of exciting) Warriors thing has happened, called the Reading Warriors. Now, this is a reading challenge where you have to read a certain amount of books to obtain codes to read special pieces written by Erin Hunter, or Vicky, or whoever. I have completed the challenge, and have entered all the codes.
The prizes included: A short story with Spottedleaf telling you(the reader) about her love for Firestar and what would have happened if she had stayed alive, and so on and so forth, a sneak peek of Eclipse(Now that Eclipse is out, that's not such a big deal anymore), a piece describing why Vicky chose to make Jaypaw blind, and finally, a contest where you could enter a Warrior name for a chance to get picked in an upcoming book! Exciting! I believe there was one more, but I can't remember it.

I can't give you the codes, that would be cheating. BUT: I can tell you this. Pretty soon excerpts from one or more of the pieces will be posted, so look out for that.

In other news, Eclipse has finally debuted, and I CAN'T WAIT! Unfortunately for me, being a bit low on euros(Dratted allowance), I haven't bought Outcast yet. Most of my Warriors books are paperback, except for Dark River, since it hasn't come out in paperback yet, and the special edition books. Storm has been doing the allegiances for Eclipse, because neither of us care about spoilers. So look for Eclipse in your local bookstore.

Finally, since I'm still stuck on Dark River, I thought I might as well say a Dark River-based theory: Will Jaypaw be reincarnated?
We know that Cinderpaw was the reincarnation of Cinderpelt, simply because she had a destiny, then another one was forced upon her. Then she went and broke her back leg and all that goodness. I don't know about you, but I was expecting a bit more of a reason to reincarnate her, but whatever. Now, we all know Jaypaw hates being a medicine cat, right? He wants to be a Warrior, but can't because he's blind. Does this give him a reason to be reincarnated?
Give me your feedback and let me know!

Until next time,
Ember

Warriors Animated Series peek

This is a video I found on Fourtree Films as well. It's masterfully done, great job, badasi. Anyway, I give it a G-rating, it's a cool video, but keep in mind that badasi said that the cats with white outlines are works in progress, so don't be like 'what the heck is THAT?', like I was! After the animation, there are drawings of the characters. You can watch it here.

Please note that until Storm and I figure out how to embed Youtube videos into the blog, which is hard to do, since I'm in the UK and he's in the US, you'll have to go directly to the video. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Scourge Tribute

Hey! It's Storm! This is a Scourge tribute! He was one of my favs! This is made by Shadestar3(not me) I'd give it a PG rating. You can watch it here.Enjoy!!

New pictures

I just did a long internet search for cat pictures so I wouldn't have to use the ones on Ww(Warrior's wish). These new pics look FANTASTIC, if I do say so myself. More goodness will be coming, like a REAL HEADER! I just have to figure out how to use Photoshop and I'll have some better stuff.

The Staff

We just enlisted a new staff member to SiTL, Stormclaw A.K.A Storm. He will be posting soon, so keep watch for that. We're not looking for more staff members, so don't ask. You can find out more about our staff under 'Staff' on the sidebar.
