Long Shadows

The fifth book in the Power of Three series has been found on the Internet. It hasn't come out yet, but we know the description and the cover. Here are both.

"The Clans are in turmoil. ShadowClan has turned it's back on StarClan and pledged to follow the dark predictions of Sol, the strange cat who foretold the solar eclipse. But not all the cats have lost faith in their warrior ancestors....

Jaypaw is convinced that StarClan still holds an important place in the warrior code, and his search for answers leads him far back into the past, farther back than even StarClan can remember. Lionblaze, tortured by violent dreams and bloody visions, wishes he had never been prophesied to be one of the three but to turn his back on his littermates would be the ultimate betrayal. And Hollyleaf is terrified that once the Clans lose their faith, the warrior code will fall apart. She's willing to fight tooth and nail to preserve it-whatever the cost.

And when murder stalks into the heart of ThunderClan, the cats realize that the darkest shadows don't always lie outside the territory."

Coolness. Anyway, in other news, the first version of the podcast was recorded last night, but that was a test version and probably won't make it to the web. I just wanted to say that it's still being worked on.
And come friday, I'll have Eclipse, and that will be good for everyone reading.

Until next time,
Ember

Breaking news!!!

I just discovered this, elections are going on at Warriorcats!! Eight leaders have been selected, and you can vote from one from each Clan(This means you get four votes). Come October 6th, the candidates will be lowered to four of them. Currently, Blackstar is leading.
So what are you waiting for? Get there and vote!

You can vote once per day, and you can also download bumper stickers and a bracket to keep track of the election. The link to the site is here, and you can also find it in the site links on the sidebar below.

Vicky on the subject of everyone's favorite medicine cat apprentice, Jaypaw!(Pt. 1)

Why is Jaypaw blind?
This is a question I get asked a lot and sometimes I'm tempted to reply, Because he was born that way! But I know what people really mean is, why did I choose to take away the sight of one of my central characters, when it might seem easier to keep all five senses intact for each hero?
Well, why not? :) Being a hero doesn't depend on being able to see, or hear, or run extra fast; heroism comes from inside, from what sort of person (or cat) you are. I always knew Jaypaw would be one of the most important cats from Power of Three, so he needed to have the right sort of character even if he didn't have functioning eyes! He didn't need to be able to see in order to be bold, curious, and willing to fight for what he believes in, which are all vital qualities for a hero.
I also liked the challenge of writing from a blind cat's viewpoint. Jaypaw can't describe how a scene looks, but he four other senses-scent, touch, taste, and hearing-to fill in the gaps. I deliberately started Power of Three Book One: The Sight from his perspective because I wanted to fill the opening chapters with details that would trick the reader into not realizing the narrator was blind. We see busy scenes of Clan life and share the thrilling and perilous fox hunt with the three kits, and only learn that Jaypaw can't see when he complains to Leafpool because she's fussing over him too much. I wanted the readers to get to know Jaypaw, to share his sense of adventure and loyalty to his Clanmates, before they knew he was blind, because that might have made him an object of pity. Jaypaw wants to be treated the same as all apprentices-and that means not being judged by readers, too!

Thanks for reading this special production of Why is Jaypaw blind?, brought to you by Erin Hunter and Shadows in The Light. Part two will continue tomorrow, right here.

Until next time,
Ember

New staffer, and other updates and news.

Even though I said I won't be accepting any staff requests, we have a new and very much needed staff member. I'd like you all to welcome... Dovey! Dovefoot(Or Dovey), has agreed to join her blog, Power of One, with Shadows.
She is now going to be writing for us, and doing some extra-secret stuff that I can't even tell you about yet. Awesome! Anyway, she will be the Official                Specialist for the blog and soon for the podcast, and she will also be the manager of the                  . As a special little teaser for you guys, I'm going to write down a list of things planned for SiTL, so that you can know what to expect from us.
Also, just so you know, the main reason the podcast is not out yet is that Storm doesn't have a mic yet! Arrgh! Other reasons are that I'm still looking for a hosting service for it, and other things.
So, without further ado, here is the list of things planned for SiTL!!

September list of goodness-
September 27(Today): Special sneeky stuff!
September 28: Gallery section of SiTL goes live.
September 29: Theories section goes up.

Th-th-th-that's all for now, folks!

Firestar!

Its Firestar! Just a random post, I was searching for a new picture for my profile, and I came across firestar!

WHO IS THE TRAITOR???

Okay, here are the most likely possibilties, THAT I HAVE SPOTTED. If there are more, or if we already know who the traitor is, let me know please(I haven't read Eclipse yet). Okay, here we go!

1. Ashfur: He hates Brambleclaw for winning Squirrelflight's affection back from him, so that puts him immediately under suspicion. Then, he was the one who charged into the ThunderClan camp and told Squirrelflight and Leafpool about Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost. And the fact that his apprentice is next in line...

2. Birchfall: Birchfall was Ashfur's apprentice and he was the one who told Firestar about Blackstar being on the territory. When Firestar tells Brambleclaw this, Hawkfrost leans over and sneers "But Blackstar isn't here, is he?", indicating that Birchfall might have been lying.

3: I don't know who else it could be. There are a lot of pieces missing from the puzzle, and if you know any, tell me!

Until next time,
Ember

Hollypaw: Where does she stand?

I think we can all agree on this. Outcast had a great ending. Jaypaw starting to reveal his secret of the prophecy, and just as it gets exciting, and you start to hold your breath, it trails off into an ellipse. But this left me wondering quite a few things. Like now we know that Hollypaw is not the fighter. It's Lionpaw. That's easy to tell from the way he kicked tresspasser tail in the battle, and won the battle for the Tribe.
So that leaves us with Hollypaw. What's her secret power? Hmm? For one thing, we know she is a thinker, a plotter, a planner. She easily sees the politics of any situation, like, for example, when ThunderClan was worried about the supposed battle with WindClan. She knew that there didn't have to be a battle, and eventually, she was proved right. Is that her special power, is it something else? I want to know what you think!

Until next time,
Ember

Ah, Outcast, how I love thee, and other news

News: I finally got freaking Outcast! Great book. Haven't finished it, because it's my sister's and she's been hogging it... anyway, it's a good read, as always. News for the blog now. Okay. Switchin' gears now. So-aaack!
Sorry, my mum/mom just poured boiling water on herself... ouch. Well, the news concerning the site isn't much. I went through and updated everything, including the other pages. I didn't add the header picture on the fanfiction section, because it looks bad. Soon a list of the all the Warriors books will go up, so be sure to check that out

Until next time,

News and sneaky sneak peeks!

Over the summer a new(and sort of exciting) Warriors thing has happened, called the Reading Warriors. Now, this is a reading challenge where you have to read a certain amount of books to obtain codes to read special pieces written by Erin Hunter, or Vicky, or whoever. I have completed the challenge, and have entered all the codes.
The prizes included: A short story with Spottedleaf telling you(the reader) about her love for Firestar and what would have happened if she had stayed alive, and so on and so forth, a sneak peek of Eclipse(Now that Eclipse is out, that's not such a big deal anymore), a piece describing why Vicky chose to make Jaypaw blind, and finally, a contest where you could enter a Warrior name for a chance to get picked in an upcoming book! Exciting! I believe there was one more, but I can't remember it.

I can't give you the codes, that would be cheating. BUT: I can tell you this. Pretty soon excerpts from one or more of the pieces will be posted, so look out for that.

In other news, Eclipse has finally debuted, and I CAN'T WAIT! Unfortunately for me, being a bit low on euros(Dratted allowance), I haven't bought Outcast yet. Most of my Warriors books are paperback, except for Dark River, since it hasn't come out in paperback yet, and the special edition books. Storm has been doing the allegiances for Eclipse, because neither of us care about spoilers. So look for Eclipse in your local bookstore.

Finally, since I'm still stuck on Dark River, I thought I might as well say a Dark River-based theory: Will Jaypaw be reincarnated?
We know that Cinderpaw was the reincarnation of Cinderpelt, simply because she had a destiny, then another one was forced upon her. Then she went and broke her back leg and all that goodness. I don't know about you, but I was expecting a bit more of a reason to reincarnate her, but whatever. Now, we all know Jaypaw hates being a medicine cat, right? He wants to be a Warrior, but can't because he's blind. Does this give him a reason to be reincarnated?
Give me your feedback and let me know!

Until next time,
Ember

Warriors Animated Series peek

This is a video I found on Fourtree Films as well. It's masterfully done, great job, badasi. Anyway, I give it a G-rating, it's a cool video, but keep in mind that badasi said that the cats with white outlines are works in progress, so don't be like 'what the heck is THAT?', like I was! After the animation, there are drawings of the characters. You can watch it here.

Please note that until Storm and I figure out how to embed Youtube videos into the blog, which is hard to do, since I'm in the UK and he's in the US, you'll have to go directly to the video. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I just did a long internet search for cat pictures so I wouldn't have to use the ones on Ww(Warrior's wish). These new pics look FANTASTIC, if I do say so myself. More goodness will be coming, like a REAL HEADER! I just have to figure out how to use Photoshop and I'll have some better stuff.

The Staff

We just enlisted a new staff member to SiTL, Stormclaw A.K.A Storm. He will be posting soon, so keep watch for that. We're not looking for more staff members, so don't ask. You can find out more about our staff under 'Staff' on the sidebar.
